Revving up for its 15th edition, Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fairupholds its mission to provide an unparalleled presentation of modern and contemporary artworks and complementary programming. In addition, the fair highlights the intersection between the importance of art and the Aspen, Colorado, community's core values—the environment, social consciousness, the local community and mental health and wellbeing.

“Coming off the tremendous success of last year, we challenged ourselves to make 2025 even better,” says Tim von Gal, CEO of Intersect Art and Design. “This includes reconfiguring and expanding the floor to accommodate more wonderful galleries and bring our Intersect Educational Series to the center of the action. Compelling programming presented by world renowned artists, curators and dealers will deliver thought-provoking insights and perspectives tailored to the interests of the unique Aspen collector.”
Von Gal adds that collectors and enthusiasts will find extraordinary painting, photography, digital art, mixed-media and sculpture in 40-plus spaces inside and outside of the Aspen Ice Garden—located in downtown Aspen.

Special exhibitions include Hilton Contemporary's presentation of three separate solo exhibitions featuring Paul Nicklen, Cristina Mittermeier and David Drebin; Donna Isham, very well known to the Aspen art community, will be featured by Varvara Roza Galleries; Jackson Fine Art will display unique perspective photography and sculpture by REM's Michael Stipe; and Ethan Murrow’s work will be presented by Winston Wächter.

“Fascinating wood sculpture and vessels are truly destination viewing at J. Ruel Studio,” adds von Gal. “Art of the World from Houston, brings Fernando Botero and other iconic artists’ works to the fair. San Francisco’s Gefen Gallery will present a program of important artists from around the globe...Each space offers something new, different and perfectly aligned with the aesthetic sensibilities of the Aspen community.”
This year will also see celebrity artists, like Shepard Fairey—known for his street art projects and Time magazine cover of Barack Obama. “We are thrilled to have 212 Gallery join our lineup this year, bringing Shepard Fairey’s important work to Intersect Aspen,” says von Gal. “[This] has been something we have wanted to accomplish for quite a while. [The artist’s] strong ties to Aspen and thought-provoking communication of social consciousness through his work aligns perfectly with the core tenets of our mission.”

Among the many booths of stellar artwork, event attendees will also discover thematic programming that touches on Aspen’s commitment to many social and environmental causes, and the correlation with art and design. While the schedule of events is still in the planning stages during the writing of this article, last year's show included lectures like Social Consciousness with Torre, discussing how art intersects with shaping community; as well as The Environment with Ann Mullins—an award-winning landscape architect based in Aspen, who has been recognized for her work in planning and developing policies that impact landscapes as well as local communities. The 2025 edition will follow this trajectory.
